Eagle Rock Gymnastics, lovingly founded by Brittne Russum, fondly known as “Coach B,” was born from a journey of profound personal growth and a mission to create a positive impact in the lives of young athletes. The club’s inception was marked by a heart-wrenching event when Coach B’s mother passed away unexpectedly on August 28th, 2018.

Raised by her single mother from a young age and facing financial struggles, Coach B’s childhood was challenging. Despite the difficulties, her mother’s free-spirited nature and infectious sense of humor left a lasting impression on her. The funeral speech brought forth memories of a cherished beach trip with her family, where Coach B’s mother fearlessly danced in the surf, while she hesitated, consumed by caution.

This poignant moment served as a catalyst for change in Coach B’s life. Returning to her software development job proved to be a daunting task after the loss. However, her daughter Remi’s passion for competitive gymnastics brought newfound inspiration. Coach B noticed that the local gymnastics atmosphere lacked warmth and genuine joy, with some coaches seemingly neglecting the well-being of young gymnasts.

Motivated by her own experiences as a foster parent and the importance of giving children a voice, Coach B made a brave decision. She bid farewell to her successful corporate career, choosing instead to create something more meaningful—a gymnastics club that would prioritize emotional well-being alongside athletic excellence. This new endeavor was fueled by a desire to provide a safe haven for young gymnasts to flourish and find joy in their sport.

Taking a leap of faith, Coach B channeled her passion, compassion, and dedication into building Eagle Rock Gymnastics. She envisioned an environment where young athletes would not only develop their gymnastic skills but also grow as confident, resilient individuals.
